Although many members of the videogame industry had mixed feelings on the most recent E3 show held by the ESA, most were in agreement that it just wasn’t as effective as previous efforts. While we were originally unsure as to when the show would return or in what capacity, N’Gai Croal at Newsweek’s Level Up column announced just recently that E3 will return again next year during the first week of June and land in the Los Angeles Convention Center. The surprise, perhaps, comes in the form of the announcement that part of the show will be officially open to the public. According to Croal’s post, the show floor and meeting rooms will open on Tuesday, June 2nd and then the public will be admitted to the floor on that Friday and Saturday.

Croal also reports that the attendance cap for next year’s event has been set at 40,000 — a much larger figure than this year’s show but still on a smaller scale than previous events. We tried contacting an ESA representative for comment but no one was currently available.
