Racism In Gaming?
There have actually been a fair few games made that are set in Africa and some of them have caused some really big arguments. Out of all of the ones out there these have to be the top three.
Resident Evil 5
Resident Evil 5 or Biohazard 5 in Japan was released earlier this year and is of course one of the many games in the Resident Evil survival horror franchise. As ever the game was developed and published by Capcom and strangely enough the game is actually the seventh instalment in the series. The game itself actually takes part in a fictional town Kijuju located in Africa. The game caused a lot of controversy because in the trailers for the games all the enemies that were being fought were black which of course then got turned into a gigantic race row. Thankfully the game was deemed as non racist.
Call Of Duty- World At War
A couple of the missions in this game were actually set in the African continent and again this one sparked a few rows as the Japanese were seen as evil, terrible people but of course this game is set in WW2. Nearly everybody is aware of how badly the Japanese treated POW’s.
Far Cry 2
This game is also set in a fictional town based in Africa. The reason the game is set in 2008 is because it was released on the same year. You play a guy with maleria who is hunting someone known as the jackal. The Jackal is supplying both sides of the war with weapons. The map is huge and you can go wherever you want on it which makes it so good.
If you would like to see where these games got their inspiration from then why not get yourself over to Africa? {Tanzania Holidays, Mozambique Holidays} and of course South Africa Holidays could be the right holiday to take.
