Dr Mario With Lyrics

Gaming is becoming one of the biggest hobbies in the world and is going to outsell both music and the film industry in the new future which is of course why so many developers now look into having some real gripping music to help tell the stories of their games. Here are some of the best.

Halo 2

The first Halo soundtrack is brilliant and works so well with the game but this one is my favourite because of the awesome guitar solo in the last track. Although getting incredibly annoyed at the fact that I had to wait at least another two years for the final game the awesome song at the end helped slightly!

Super Mario Bros

This is the original and by far one of the best theme tunes in gaming history; it works amazingly well with the game itself and helped propel Mario to the front of the gaming world. Every world in Mario has always had a different tune too it and Mario Galaxy is no different.

Super Smash Bros Brawl

This one is on the list because all of Nintendo’s best musical numbers are on this game. Every stage has multiple songs for it. This is a game for the Nintendo fans that not only want a big of fighting but want to remember the old music from some of the older Nintendo games. The personal favourite of mine is Dr Mario.

The truth is that all of these pieces are made in a very similar way to the way that a film piece is made so all kinds of instruments from the traditional drum kits and guitars to classical guitars all are now needed to create a piece of music that is suitable for a game. It takes just as much skill to create a piece for a game as it does for a movie.

Nintendo’s Black Wii Launch Is A Huge Success

It’s probably fair to say that all the big three games consoles – the Sony PS3, Microsoft’s Xbox and the Nintendo Wii – all have their own individual advantages. Different gamers will have their own personal favourites and it’s pretty much a waste of time to try to persuade them that one of the other consoles is any better.

Many family homes today will have more than one, and it’s not out of the question that they may have all three, games consoles. Not forgetting the various mobile consoles like the Nintendo Ds and the Sony PSP. It’s quite common these days for games consoles to also see use as blu-ray disc or DVD players.

Regardless of which console is “best”, it’s probably fair to say that the Nintendo Wii is the most sociable of the three consoles. Whereas the PS3 and Xbox are more often than not found in teenager’s bedrooms, the Wii is just as likely to be found in the family living room. The Wii is less powerful than the other two consoles and has much less detailed graphics – more cartoon like as a rule. Nevertheless, it is very often the Wii that is found connected to the big screen TV in the living room.

One important factor in this is the fact that the Wii’s motion sensitive controller means that, even though the graphics may be simpler, it’s more difficult to follow the action on a small screen TV when you’re jumping around all over the place. The other thing is that it’s easier and more intuitive to learn games on the Wii. Even adults can do it – so it’s easier for all members of the family to join in the fun.

All of that jumping about when playing games on the Wii means that the amount of space required to play Wii games is greater than that needed for the other consoles. This also makes the living room a more attractive choice than the typical teenage bedroom, where you would be tripping over discarded clothes, half eaten pizzas and empty juice bottles. The physical element to game play on the Wii is a good thing. It means that there’s a certain amount of exercise involved when playing Wii games. Mind you, you should be careful and take it easy at first. It’s very easy to wake up with a stiff arm or sore legs after your first evening of playing Wii Sports.

The tendency for families to have their Wii console in the living room could go some way to explaining the success of the black Wii. Nintendo went to the dark side and released a black Wii console in Japan in the summer of 2009. It was launched in Europe in time for Christmas 2009. It turned out to be an extremely popular choice with many gamers – possibly because it matches the TV, the cable box, the DVD player etc. – better than the white version.

Games Addiction in Context Recognize the risks and be safe.

Problem or Not? We take a responsible look at Computer Game Addiction

We have seen in the recently published Parts 1 and 2 of this article, that there are many potential benefits to be derived from Computer Ganing and there will be frequent instances where one might encourage the use of gaming to improve one’s own life and that of family and friends. Nevertheless, caution cannot simply be cast aside and you should always take a responsible approach not only for yourself but also others for whom you are responsible..

Some of the facts that follow are a little hard-hitting but we have pointed out earlier and again finish in the same light, that there is much about which to be positive and optimistic.

Social tragedies associated with computer gaming addiction are becoming more common and one does not have to look far for evidence of the damage that computer gaming addiction can cause including job loss, families breaking up, marriage failures and in extreme cases, death!

A number of you will have heard of the case when in 2005, a South Korean named Lee Seung Seop played StarCraft solidly for fifty hours in an Internet cafe and made headline news for all the wrong reasons.  He went into cardiac arrest and died at a local hospital. The man, identified by his family name, Lee, started playing Starcraft on 3 August. He only paused playing to go to the toilet and for short periods of sleep, said the police. The police commented that they did not know if the deceased had been suffering from any prior health conditions and added that he had recently been fired from his job because he kept missing work to play computer games.

A friend reported: “…he was a game addict. We all knew about it. He couldn’t stop himself.”

South Korea appears to be a world hot-spot for online gaming as apparently some 15 million people, that’s 30% of its population, are registered for online gaming.   It is no surprise to hear that the annual World Cyber Games are operated by a South Korean corporation, backed by A-List corporations including Samsung and Microsoft

Whilst death is perhaps an extreme consequence of Computer Game Addiction, and some of you may recognize in yourselves, if not exact parallels with Lee’s demise, certainly the potential for something similar happening to you.

The big question is of course: “Do I need to be concerned about Computer Games Addiction?

See if you might be suffering from Computer Gaming Addiction by answering the following questions:

#  Do you find you need to play more and more hours in order to satisfy your need for the excitement?
#  Are you preoccupied with gaming, thinking about it when offline, anticipating your next gaming session?
#  Do you find the need to lie to friends and family to conceal the time you spend on computer gaming?
#  Do you feel restless or tetchy when trying to cut back on or stop computer  gaming?
#  Have you ever tried unsuccessfully to control, cut down or give up computer gaming?
#  Are you aware of ever having used gaming to escape personal issues or to ease feelings of helplessness, guilt, anxiety, or depression?
#  Have you ever endangered or broken an important relationship, or even jeopardized your marriage because of your computer gaming?
#  Has your computer gaming ever resulted in a lost job, a lost career move or educational opportunity?

Take notice if your answer was yes to any of the questions. These are the basic signs that you may well have lost control. If the signs apply to you, it is sensible to consider seeking help; and don’t rule out self-help.

For most people, it will be clear without the need for the tests, if they are spending too much time gaming. Research has shown that downloaded and purchased games of the type most likely played at home are much less likely to be addictive than online gaming and MMORPGS.  Occasionally, rather than going online to compete, think about playing home-based video games with your friends and family.

Above all, variety rather than hard-core gaming of any type could well be one of the answers.

This is one of a trilogy of concise articles looking at the thorny matter of Computer Gaming Addicition. Submitted by a site dedicated to computer video and online gaming with the purpose of presenting a balanced and proportionate view of this important topic.

Games Addiction in Context Have fun and keep safe.

Is Computer Game addiction a problem? We take a responsible look.

There is strong evidence to suggest that family bonding is enhanced by the presence of computer games in the home.  Other benefits that have been supported by research are that parents have found their children frequently exhibit improved hand-eye co-ordination and manual motor functions, enhanced memory, opportunities for learning and cognitive exercise, stress relief,  relaxation and improved self-confidence. Any families owning a Nintendo Wii can include improved physical fitness to their list!

Psychologist Professor Mark Griffiths, author of several in-depth studies into online gaming and gambling addiction, has told news stations that according to his research, playing excessively was not problematic in any shape or form for the majority of gamers.

He did say however that: “It does seem to be the case that online gaming addiction for a small minority is a real phenomenon and people suffer the same symptoms as traditional addictions.” {”But the good news is that it is a small minority.”}

Professor Griffiths explained that MMORPGs – Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games – are social and immersive so require long periods of play. He also tagged on: “If you are going to take it seriously, you have to spend time doing it.”

Professor Griffith and his team conducted an in-depth survey of 540 gamers and found that four players; that is just under 0.75%, were playing an excessive 80 hours or more a week. Well, the question is: “do you need to watch yourself?” “Healthy enthusiasm” or “unhealthy addiction?” People who sacrifice jobs, partners and loved ones are considered “extreme players” warns Professor Griffiths.

The advice was that if worried about gaming addiction, to contact one’s doctor to be referred to a psychologist

Do you think you or someone you care about may be suffering from computer game addiction? There is no doubt that compulsive computer gaming has become a potentially dangerous condition requiring structured therapy in extreme cases. There is nevertheless much about which to be excited and positive as explained earlier and in Part 1 and as you will also read in the concluding part.

This is one of a trilogy of concise articles looking at the thorny matter of Computer Gaming Addicition. Presented by a website dealing only with Video and Online Gaming and seek to present a balanced and responsible view of Gaming Addiction.

Gaming Addiction Debunked Don’t let it spoil your fun.

Problem or Not? We take a responsible look at Computer Game Addiction

The Good News

The generic term “Computer Gaming” covers all types of games played on computers.  Firstly there is a difference between “Online Gaming” and “Video Gaming”. “Online Gaming” invariably involves ”MMORPGs” – Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games – logging into a cyber arena and competing with several others, who are quite possibly total strangers.  There may even be hundreds participating at any given moment. We see “Video Gaming”  as gaming more likely played in the home on your own or with family and friends on a localized basis such as in your living room, playing video games bought from your local video games retailer or on eBay or perhaps downloaded or swapped with your friends. Although MMORPGs are massively popular and involve wider social contact, there will be far more people who have never experienced playing them. The wider social contact of MMORPGs seems to be a factor more likely to push people to addiction according to research; but not always!

Well, some good news is that ninety per cent of the young people who seek treatment for compulsive computer gaming are not addicted. So says Keith Bakker the founder and head of Europe’s first clinic to treat gaming addicts according to BBC News.

Since 2006 when it opened, The Smith & Jones Centre in Amsterdam has treated hundreds of young gamers from all over the world; but the clinic is changing its treatment as it realizes that compulsive gaming is a social rather than a psychological problem.

Research was carried out in 2007 by The American Psychological Association to find out if computer video game addiction should be recognized as a disorder for inclusion in the new Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders due for publication in 2012.  They concluded that there was insufficient evidence to show that video game addiction is a disorder.

This is one of three concise articles, dealing with the issue of Computer Games Addiction. The articles have been researched and written by a site dedicated to Video and Online Gaming and endeavour to put a sensible perspective on this important issue.

The Future for Computer Gaming and Computer Gaming Software Development

About halfway through the 1990’s, computer gaming really became a huge part of people’s lives. Gaming started out as just one more interesting computer program among many, with no indication of the immense popularity it would attain. Over the last 20 years computer games have gone from rudimentary isometric 2D games to games with a fully realized 3D environment. Video games is one of the most profitable industries, nearly rivaling the movie industry in scope and production costs.

An interesting fact is that computer gaming software advances more rapidly than the technology for the systems on which the games are played. This is largely the result of many engineers in the gaming world taking their “art work” very seriously as they strive to produce their masterpiece. Sometimes an idea isn’t possible until new technology arrives, and that happens faster and faster these days. So, with requirements for stronger computers, pushing for production of better, faster CPU’s and GPU’s is a never-ending task.

Nowadays, the gaming industry is doing so much more than just entertaining us. There are a wide variety of educational games available on the market. Some are even made specifically to provide our youth with basic computer literacy. They can also teach academic subjects such as reading, history, math, science: anything you can think og!

But for numerous others, computer gaming is still simply an absorbing pastime that is still growing in popularity. Some gamers prefer Real-Time Strategy (RTS) games where they build empires and direct armies, others like it more up close and personal with First-Person Shooters (FPS) where you play a single soldier in a war, and then those who like longer games with sweeping epic plots there are the Role-Playing Games (RPG). So many different kinds of games – and mini-genres within genres – just too many to mention them all. And of course the computers used to play these games are wildly different as well.

One common drawback to computer gaming is having to update one’s hardware every time a new game comes out. Hardware isn’t cheap and different models of computer are configured differently. People have systems ranging anywhere from ancient dinosaurs with low quality graphics to exceptional computers with amazing processor speeds. But people will always find a way as gaming is quite a popular hobby.

This being the case, designers continually try to find different and better ways to present their games. Research and development of new and improved monitoring options is a big one. Over the years someone always gets the idea for a space age visor through which gamers can experience their games. More recently, a motion control monitor is being considered as an improvement upon the visor.

What this means is the monitor will have sensors that can change the position of the in-game camera at just the turn of your head. It’s a wonderfully exciting concept, although still in it’s very early stages. But when it comes to computer gaming most gamers prefer the trusty mouse and keyboard.

It’s interesting to observe that as computer gaming progresses … so do we. Gaming has gone beyond just a geeky hobby, it’s become a storytelling medium and an educational tool. An entirely new age of gaming is just around the corner as advancements in new high-tech programs and equipment emerge every day. So never forget to play passionately and have as much fun as you can!

Flying Simulator Airports

Gone are the days where you have fun with flight simulator games that are based around an invented airport. A good deal of research and development have been exerted into making these games as accurate as possible. This is very important since most flight simulations are now used for flight crew education on airplane operation and emergency landings. It is thus also imperative that a real flight simulator airport is used. According to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), there are more than 20,000 airports worldwide and trainee pilots should use flight simulators which actually include these real airports.

Flight Sim Pro not only is presently the best flight simulator on the market, it also has the best flight simulator airport as well. There are over 20,000 real airports included in the full scenery set – you can land in airports all over the world.Additionally, all of these airports have appropriate lighting and runway markings. This means that if you play this flight simulator game, you will learn about airports worldwide and you will also feel like you have been to the actual aiports.

The trouble with most flight simulator games is that their developers only focused on the planes and controls while they did not put a lot of attention on the airports. For a flight simulator to be successful in simulating real life, real airports must be used.. When you are looking for a genuine flight simulator game, it is essential that you take into account whether or not the game features real world airports.

You can obtain many free flight simulator programs online but since they are not genuine and they do not employ real airports, they would be useless for someone who wants to have a realistic experience. If you are looking for a flight simulator airport, then you are probably a trainee pilot or you just want to learn how to fly a plane. If that is the case, then you ought to opt for Flight Sim Pro because it uses NASA flight models and accurate mappings of the US Defense Mapping Agency.

I like to use this game to land in some of the big airports worldwide including LAX and Heathrow. In your case, where would you want to land your plane when using a PC flight simulator?Surely, you will find that airport in the Flight Sim Pro.

Another thing you will like about the Flight Sim Pro is the fact that it uses Google Maps so your experience will be more realistic since you will see other planes on your radar and you will also have to wait for a queue whenever you have to land on an airport.
