Nintendo and Harmonix finally bringing the REAL Rock Band experience to the Wii. Rock Band 2 Special Edition was well worth the wait. Have customized avatars and actual downloaded content to rock out and have fun. RB2 adds the “Band” experience: Touring, Band-mate selection, losing fans if you quit a “set” prematurely, battle of the bands, never-ending amounts of fresh content to play… there are more modes from the first Rock Band game!

Rock Band 2 will ship with 2nd generation hardware: more durable, wireless drums with an expansion port to support cymbal pads and improved wireless Fender Stratocaster guitars – with multiple colors. Easy to set up. In order to get everything wireless, you plug little “dongles” into the USB ports in the back of the Wii. One dongle has two extra slots, so if you have only one USB port free, you can still plug everything in. After the set up, you can start a band or just just playing around! The Special Edition package comes with a microphone, drum set, and one guitar, but there’s room for more. The instructions and tutorials are easy to follow, will help to a lot to learn how to play all the instruments.

Harmonix put together a *killer* set list for Rock Band 2 Special, just as they did for the previous version. Play song you love and get challenged by the artists you never heard before. There is a good mix of new and old songs, something for everyone. You won’t get bored with the nice instruments, lots of new songs and original modes. And once your band has mastered their craft, you can take on around-the-world rockers in “Battle of the Bands” online competitions. Besides that, Rock Band 2 pushes music simulation farther than it’s ever gone with a tool that actually teaches you how to play the drums in real life – or you can just have fun jamming and playing along to songs in the Freestyle Drum model

Rock Band 2 Special Edition is almost too fun to even describe in words. While it is best suited for groups, you can still have fun rocking out with a partner or even alone. Of course, with the online play now available, you are never really alone. Rock Band 2 Special Edition is a great family game that adults will enjoy immensely as well!
