Kurup Movie Review

In this article, we will talk about a brand new Malayalam film Kurup which has been released in theatres this week. If we talk about the category, then this film is a biographical crime thriller category’s film. One good thing about this film is that the film has been released in all South Indian languages as well as Hindi.

Dulquer Salman, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Shine Tom Chacko are going to be seen in the lead role of film Kurup. There are many such small things in this film, due to which this film is not able to achieve the title of a perfect film.

If we talk about the positive point, then the writing of this film has been done very well because in the beginning of the film, an attempt has been made to show the character named Kurup as a normal person instead of directly showing him a criminal. In the beginning of the film, Kurup is presented in such a way that he lacks discipline and later on he can turn his direction on the path of crime. It’s fun to watch Kurup’s journey from being an indisciplined boy to a dangerous criminal.

The best thing about this film is that no attempt has been made to justify or glorify a criminal named Kurup in this film. There are many such films in which an attempt is made to glorify a criminal and try to make him appear like a hero but in this film it has not been done.

If we talk about the negative points, then the first half of this film is a bit slow, that is, if you like films that give a feeling of thrill from the beginning, then this film will disappoint you a bit. The story of this film is good but still the depth is not seen in the characters, due to which we are not able to connect with the characters.

If we talk about the screenplay, then along with the present timeline in the film, an attempt has been made to show many other timelines as well. Although these multiple timelines manage to keep us engaged for some time, but after a while, we start getting disconnected from those timelines.

If we talk about acting, then the acting of Dulquer Salman who played the role of Kurup in the film was tremendous, along with that Shine Tom Chacko has also acted well because with the arrival of Shine Tom Chacko on the screen, we start getting the feeling of a dark comedy. Indrajith Sukumaran has been given very less screen time in the film but despite having less screen time, he has acted well.

Overall, we cannot call Kurup an extraordinary film. This is a one-time watch movie which you will definitely enjoy watching but this film will not be able to leave its mark on your mind.
